Massachusetts’ forests, fields, and wetlands are essential for what they provide to wildlife and to people – including a more livable climate. Natural and working lands are recognized as an essential part of climate action, and at the state level we’ve made great progress on helping every acre play a role in removing carbon pollution. However, changes in land use policies and support for municipalities and private landowners are the key to going the rest of the way.
